20th January 2007 - Thatcham Film Club
I am pleased to announce to local residents
in West Berkshire, UK that a brand new film club
has been formed that I am assisting the committee
with. Designed to bring the magic of the movies
to local film fans in a town previously devoid
of a cinema, Thatcham
Film Club is lining up a wide variety of films
for the coming year and is expected to include
a number of cult and classic movies in it's schedule.
If you're local to the area then please visit
Thatcham
Film Club to review a list of upcoming movies
and book your tickets on-line.
For new visitors to skyjude
- movie legends then may I please say a big
hello and thankyou for visiting. I always love
to hear from fellow film fans so if you've just
surfed in and found something you liked please
visit the guestbook
to list your favourite movies and any films you'd
like me to cover next. Sadly, this guestbook
was out of action for a few months at the end
of last year thanks to my ever unreliable web-host,
but should be fully operational now so please
give it a go else e-mail
me if you have any other ideas for the site.

7th July 2006 - Alastair Sim & Midnight Palace
I have recently come across two superb new
web-sites dedicated to classic cinema that I had
to detail for you here.
Firstly, there is one of the greatest tributes
I have come across on the web, with a supreme
site dedicated to the incomparable Alastair
Sim. Featuring reviews of his theatre, film
and TV work this really is an awesome homage to
the great Scottish actor. As well as extremely
detailed reviews there are even recreations of
some of his plays using slideshows that demand
viewing. An essential visit.
Next we have the equally excellent Midnight
Palace dedicated to the finest movies of yesteryear.
A brand new site this has launched with great
reviews of Freaks and Sunset Boulevard
(a personal favourite), as well as it's own theatre
section streaming different films with each new
update.

24th June 2006 - Turner Classic Movies presents Edge
Of Outside
Turner
Classic Movies (TCM) is honouring the maverick film
directors in it's feature documentary Edge
Of Outside running on the TCM
channel throughout July 2006.
A tribute to the fight for artistic freedom in American
independent cinema, Edge
Of Outside features original interviews with Martin
Scorsese, Peter Falk Ed Burns, Spike Lee, Henry Jaglom,
Arthur Penn,
Gena Rowlands and John Sayles as well as friends and
crew members who worked with classic filmmakers, including
Nicholas Ray, John Cassavetes and Sam Peckinpah. Offering
an intimate look at the various issues, creative and
personal, financial and emotional, this documentary
illustrates the struggles endured by many classic filmmakers
to create a personal vision, a vision mirrored by many
contemporary directors today. Edge
Of Outside dispels the notion that an independent
film is simply a low-budget film, instead defining the
genre by the maverick filmmaker's ability to infuse
his or her films with creative spirit and determination.

22nd May 2006 - Top 5 Songs in Movies that aren't Musicals
The first entry into the curiously titled misc
page, is my list of favourite songs in non-musicals.
It may be a rather odd list to open the misc
page with, but these are all particular favourites of
mine and great movie moments in their own right. Please
visit to stare in disbelief at the fact I forgot to
include your favourites. Then again I also reserve the
right to change my own mind as often and as freely as
I choose...
Disagree with my choices? Please e-mail
me or drop a message in the guestbook
so you can tell me about your favourite movies etc.

5th May 2006 - Review by The Site Critic
A favourable review from The
Site Critic -
"The reason skyjude deserves some attention is
that it is a perfect example of a good site. No, you
won't find a single affiliate link or advertisement
here. That's because this site's author has a true uncorrupted
passion for movies. Content quality is something that
I am always talking about. skyjude
movie legends is full of rich content, giving readers
a reason to see the movie being reviewed. The site design
is simple and organised, enticing visitors to read more.
I am not a big fan of flash animation but here I think
it is a good example of how to use it. The guestbook
also lacks the usual spam common on today's websites.
If I had to guess, I would think that this website is
gaining a loyal readership."

3rd February 2006 - Site opened
I like movies. Big, small, old, new, classic, cult.
I like movies.
Those I particularly like will be reviewed on this web-site
along with various images, sounds, quotes and trivia.
And my own 'Top 5 Reasons for watching each movie'.
It's only fair then that my all-time favourite movie
Casablanca has the honour
of opening this web-site.
But the movies wouldn't be without the people that make
them and I also intend to create my own personal tributes
to the legendary actors and directors who have made
these great movies.
I trust you'll find this web-site useful and hopefully
enjoy my own, personal take on each of the movies covered
on this site. I am always pleased to hear from fellow
movie fans so please visit the guestbook.
